Yvonne Richards

Director of Programmes and Learning

Yvonne has worked in the education sector for over 30 years. She’s a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching at all levels of education from EYFS to undergraduate – and has worked in formal and non-formal education. She spent 5 years leading teacher development projects in sub-Saharan Africa and completed her MA in International Education at the University of Sussex. Directly prior to joining Young Citizens, she led the national delivery of a non-formal awards programme for a national youth charity and then managed the training department at a national anti-bullying and safeguarding charity. Yvonne now oversees the development of our programmes and resources, including our primary and secondary resources, mock trials competitions, teacher training, the SMSC Quality Mark and our social action programmes. She is also our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
